Itinerary

Welcome to the capital of Iceland! Arrival and airport transfer to your Reykjavik hotel with assistance from the Target Tours India team. Northern Lights chase by minibus in the evening — venture off the beaten track to admire the dancing lights in all their glory. Wrap yourself in a blanket, enjoy a cup of hot cocoa, and gaze up at the Aurora Borealis. Overnight in Reykjavik.
Breakfast. See Iceland above and underground. Begin by walking through a lava tunnel that once carried a river of molten rock — up to 30 metres wide and 10 metres high in places, with the fantastic mineral colours of the tunnel walls. Then head out on the Golden Circle to Gullfoss waterfall, the Geysir geothermal area with Strokkur, and Thingvellir National Park. Overnight in Reykjavik.
Breakfast. Full-day South Coast tour taking in Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls, Reynisfjara black-sand beach with its Reynisdrangar rock formations, and Sólheimajökull glacier with the small lake formed in front of its retreating tongue. Overnight in Reykjavik.
Breakfast. Full-day tour of the Snæfellsnes peninsula, sometimes called “Iceland in miniature” — black beaches, volcanic craters, magical caves and the picturesque Snæfellsjökull glacier. Stop at the fishing village of Arnarstapi, take in views of Kirkjufell mountain and the black-sand cliffs of Djúpalónssandur bay, a favourite among photographers. Overnight in Reykjavik.
Breakfast. Flight to Akureyri, the “capital of the north.” Airport transfer and hotel check-in. Overnight in Akureyri.
Breakfast. Full-day Diamond Circle tour — visit Goðafoss waterfall, then Lake Mývatn and Hverir’s boiling mud pits by Mt. Námafjall. Short stop at Víti crater near Krafla Volcano before Dettifoss, Iceland’s most powerful waterfall. Continue along the Jökulsárgl&júfur canyon to Hljóðaklettar (the “echoing cliffs”), the horseshoe-shaped Ásbyrgi canyon, and a photo stop in Húsavík village on the way back to Akureyri. Overnight in Akureyri.
Breakfast. Today is your chance to see the whales and dolphins of Iceland in their natural habitat. The vast fjord and its plentiful food attract the larger-than-life Humpback whales that call Akureyri home. Our specially trained guides are experts at spotting them and telling you about their behaviour. Overnight in Akureyri.
Breakfast and check-out. Airport transfer from Akureyri for your onward flight, with assistance from the Target Tours India team. End of our services.
